Basic Pie Crust


Ingredients

Makes 2 – 9 inch crusts 

2 ½ cups all purpose flour  

2 tsp salt  

1 cup cold butter, cut into cubes (we recommend Hope Hi Fat Butter)  

½ cup ice water  

  

Preparation

In food processor, pulse flour, salt, and butter until pea-size crumbs form. With motor running on low, add ice water slowly just until the dough starts to form. Remove to a floured surface and form into a ball. Cut in half, pat into 2 discs, wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 2 hours before using.   

*make a double or triple batch, wrap discs well and freeze for quick pies and quiches
