TCCP Winter Body Care Picks
By Katie Lentsch, Wedge Wellness Associate
The cold Minnesota months can leave skin dehydrated, itchy, and cracked. Whether it’s from shoveling snow, facing cold wind, working outdoors or seasonal sports, winter skin will benefit from head to toe with these nourishing, locally made body care products.
With only three ingredients (beeswax, raw honey, and olive oil), this thick putty acts as a sealant for moisture when smoothed onto cracked knuckles, calloused heels, dry cuticle beds, and damaged skin. Apply thoroughly for prolonged protection and healing – it also comes in a cream for less severe dryness. Their beeswax lip balm (with hydrating Vitamin E) can also be found on our Wellness shelves.
Four Elements Muscle and Joint Cream
This soft cream is made to moisturize skin and soothe body aches. Also formulated as a body oil, its key farm-grown ingredients are arnica and capsicum (also known as chili pepper), both of which are plants known to help aid muscle pains and inflammation.
You can find a variety of Four Elements functional creams on our shelves – such as the Peppermint Thyme Cooling Cream (great for tired feet), Look, No X’ Ma! Skin Soothing Cream for eczema or related skin conditions, and their moisturizing rose, calendula neroli, and unscented comfrey creams for all over use.
For daily application, SunLeaf’s Skin Therapy Body Oil is a lightweight mix of beneficial oils, such as jojoba, avocado and Vitamin E. A beneficial and skin-softening formula for dry, irritated, or rough skin is the lavender, chamomile and clary sage blend, which are each known for their calming aspects when used topically, or mentally relaxing when used for their aromas.
