Round
Rounding up at the register with our Change Matters* program is an easy way to make donations. During the month of April all register donations will go to support The Tanka Fund.
The Tanka Fund is a national campaign based in Little Canada, MN to return buffalo to the land, diets and economies of American Indian people. They aim to restore one million acres of Native lands through sustainable buffalo production. The Tanka Fund was created in 2012 through a partnership between the Indian Land Tenure Foundation, and Native American Natural Foods, the creator of Tanka Bar snacks (on SALE this month – see below).
Every cent of your donations will go directly to Native buffalo projects in the region — either to pay for a land lease, fencing (which can be exorbitant because buffalo can jump six feet), a well, a stipend for a caretaker, or other expenses critical to maintaining and expanding native buffalo herds.
Join Us for the Buffalo Returns Screening on Friday, April 20
Learn more about the Tanka Fund at the their event on April 20 at the Wedge Table with a screening of Buffalo Returns, a short documentary about returning buffalo to Native lands. The screening will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by discussion led by Sasha Houston Brown (Santee Dakota), a Tanka Fund volunteer. View event details HERE
