CAP DESIGN ISSUE: To prevent accidental poisoning, in early 2020 Pranarom changed from a ridged screw-top cap to a smoother-textured, child-resistant cap. Unfortunately some retailers received shipments with the old cap, which is not in compliance with the Poison Prevention Packaging Act.

The Wedge does not currently have any bottles of this product with the older cap; however, it is possible that we received some during the first half of 2020. Evol is recalling approximately 626 pounds of egg burrito products labeled as chicken burrito products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens. The products contain eggs, a known allergen, which was not declared on the product label. The frozen burritos were produced on Sept. 10, 2019. The problem was discovered after U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) and the firm received consumer complaints reporting that the cilantro lime chicken burritos were actually egg burritos. It has come to their attention that briefly during production, pouches of Chocolate Sea Salt Probiotic Granola were used to package Maple Walnut Probiotic Granola. All mislabeled pouches of granola were packed into master cases labeled as 8oz Maple Walnut Probiotic Granola.

Customers are asked to immediately examine their inventory and destroy product from this specific lot code. People with an allergy or severe sensitivity to tree nuts, specifically walnuts, run the risk of experiencing a serious or life- threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

At the time notice was received, the Wedge Co-op did not have any affected product on the shelf.

FSIS warns against consuming any wraps, sandwiches, prepackaged salad, salad kits, or other product containing romaine lettuce harvested from the Salinas, California, growing region. Anyone concerned about an illness should contact a healthcare provider. Consumers with food safety questions can call the toll-free USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline at 1-888-MPHotline (1-888-674-6854).

Out of an abundance of caution, the Wedge Co-op has pulled all romaine lettuce and products containing romaine lettuce of questionable origins from Produce and Prepared Foods. These products will remain off the shelf until more information becomes available to us.

Theo Chocolate is voluntarily recalling this product due to possible undeclared milk. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

A small number of Toffee chocolate bars were incorrectly packaged as Sea Salt. As the Toffee bars contain butter (milk) and the Sea Salt bars do not, the mis-packaged bars do not list milk in the allergen statement. No other product sold under the Theo Chocolate brand is affected by the recall.
