We’re inspired by the women that work together to support a healthy community and sustainable food system that nourishes our bodies, hearts and minds. In the words of The Coven co-founder, Erinn Farrell…

“WE BELIEVE WHEN WOMEN GATHER TOGETHER, THEY CREATE MAGIC.”

OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH THE COVEN

By Jessica Pierce, Director of Brand Marketing

The Coven community is an incredible force of notable women in the Twin Cities, bringing their unique and powerful voices to the important conversation of women empowerment. We are excited to announce a new partnership with them. Together we aim to create a community of healthy, confident women who inspire and support each other.

It started over a cup of coffee at the Wedge Table on a snowy November morning. My dear friend and consummate connector encouraged Alex Steinman, co-founder of The Coven, and I to get together. Her e-introduction read “Wanted to connect you two and let girl bosses do their thing!”

Over egg sandwiches and breakfast burritos, we talked about being fulltime working women each with two small children, pursuing careers that allowed us to effect change in our communities.

Alex and her fellow Coven cofounders, Bethany, Erinn and Liz, designed a member-based, community co-working space for women and nonbinary individuals to pursue growth and confidence through networking, mentorship and education. Think of it as a diverse sisterhood where you can become the absolute best version of yourself through connection, collaboration, and content.

As I sat there learning about this new community space, my heart and head immediately went to the powerful implications this type of partnership would have for all the women and non-binary individuals in our co-op. The ability to provide networking opportunities and access to workshops on professional development, leadership, and growth made me want to do cartwheels.

We quickly developed a deep partnership with a commitment to support The Coven with healthy, fresh food and beverage options (thanks to our Coven vendor partners listed in the below), develop a diverse spread of educational programming to connect Coven members with their local food system, provide wellness products from Alaffia (a brand that exemplifies women empowerment) and provide a support team to help build out their catering offerings.

For over 40 years, the Wedge and Linden Hills Co-op have supported local, entrepreneurial businesses and women in food. That one powerful coffee meeting put into motion the coop’s ability to continue and enhance our commitment to this core mission in a unique, new way that empowers our staff and the co-op community.

THE COVEN
The Coven is dedicated to community, collaboration, and content. At the core of the business is a social enterprise in the form of a 5-for-1 scholarship. For every five members, The Coven gifts a membership to a woman in the community who needs access to community, opportunity, and resources. They prioritize women of color, women and non-binary folks from the LGBTQ community, and differently-abled women. To learn more visit thecoven.com
