Pending the result of a labor practices inquiry concerning possible violations at a farm in upstate New York, a manufacturing facility that once handled some ACURE products, the Wedge and Linden Hills Co-op have decided to pull ACURE products from our shelves.
ACURE states that in a contract that terminated in 2017, Greener Formulas’ LLC produced “a small amount of select organic products” for ACURE. Green Formulas in turn, contracted some packaging of ACURE products to a third party: Twelve Tribes Organization. ACURE claims they never knowingly had a contract with the farm in question (Twelve Tribes Organization).
What we know is that ACURE is taking steps to audit EVERY part of their supply and manufacturing chain. Their goal is to link each product on their website to the place it was made and have it be open for inspection by customers.
Issues involving inhumane labor and lack of supply chain transparency are not acceptable and do not meet our strict product standards. Before the Wedge and Linden Hills Co-op resume sales of ACURE, we will review the results of the third-party audits and consider next steps.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. We will share updates as soon as we have them.
UPDATE: Following the release of audits we have decided to carry ACURE products again. It is standard industry practice to specifically not reveal names of the second party manufacturers used. ACURE is not only disclosing the second party manufacturers used, but they also initiated the SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) audits. View details and all the audits on acure.com
